What this is
This is the agreement between you and ADHD Events. We're based at 21C Forde Park, Devon, TQ12 1DD. Our company number is 17243893.
When you use ADHD Events, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use ADHD Events.
We'll update these terms sometimes. When we do, we'll say so on the site, and we'll email you if you've given us your address. The latest version is always at adhdevents.org/terms.
Who ADHD Events is for
ADHD Events is for anyone with an interest in ADHD. People with ADHD, people who think they might have it, parents and partners, teachers, clinicians, coaches, researchers, and anyone else who wants to know what's happening.
Looking at the calendar is open to everyone. You need to be 18 or over to create an account, subscribe, or submit an event.
ADHD Events is not a medical service. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or replace professional care. We're a calendar, nothing more.
If you're in crisis right now, please contact the Samaritans on 116 123 or your local emergency services.
What ADHD Events does
ADHD Events gives you:
- A calendar of upcoming ADHD events from around the world
- A way to subscribe, so events land in your own calendar or inbox
- A way to submit your own event for us to consider
- A way to embed the calendar on your website
That's the whole thing. There's no app, and there's nothing to install. We may change how the site works, add things, or take things away. We'll try to give you notice when a change affects you.
What it costs
ADHD Events is free. Free to browse, free to subscribe, free to submit an event, free to embed.
If that ever changes, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice first, and anything you're already using stays free until then.
The events on the calendar
This part matters, so we've kept it short and direct.
We don't run these events
They're run by other people and organisations. Conferences, support groups, webinars, meet-ups, training days, and so on.
We don't check them
We do a light review before listing something, but we can't verify that an event is safe, accurate, well run, accessible, good value, or suitable for you.
Details change
Dates move, prices change, events get cancelled. The information on our calendar comes from the organiser and may be out of date.
Always check with the organiser
Before you book, pay for anything, or travel.
Listing an event isn't a recommendation or an endorsement. Your booking is between you and the organiser, and so is anything that goes wrong with it. Tickets, refunds, access needs, and what happens on the day are all theirs to sort out, not ours.
The same goes for links. When we link out to another website, we're not responsible for what's on it.
If you spot something wrong with a listing, please tell us at contact@adhdevents.org and we'll look into it.
Adding your own event
Anyone can submit an event. Here's what we ask, and what you can expect from us.
What we ask of you
- The details are accurate, and the event is real
- You're the organiser, or you have their permission
- You have the right to share any text or images you send us
- The event is legal, and it isn't harmful, misleading, or discriminatory
- You tell us if the event changes or gets cancelled
What you can expect from us
- We read every submission, but we can't promise to list it
- We may edit the wording or the images so the calendar stays consistent
- We may decline or remove an event, and we don't have to give a reason
- We'll try to tell you if we remove your event, but we may not always be able to
When you submit an event, you're giving us permission to show it on the calendar, in the subscription feeds, in emails, on embedded calendars, and in anything we publish about the site. You keep ownership of what you send us. You can ask us to take your event down at any time.
Please don't use event submissions as advertising for something that isn't really an event.
Putting the calendar on your website
You're welcome to embed the ADHD Events calendar on your site, for free. We'd love you to.
A few conditions:
- Keep the calendar as it is. Don't alter, hide, or reorder what's in it
- Keep the ADHD Events name and link visible
- Don't suggest we're partners, or that we endorse you, unless we've agreed that in writing
- Don't charge anyone for access to it, or put it behind a paywall
- Don't use it on a site that's illegal, harmful, or hateful
We can ask you to remove the embed, and we can change or switch off the embed feature. If we do, we'll give you reasonable notice where we can.
This is a permission, not a transfer. The calendar, the data in it, and the way it's put together stay ours.
Your account
You don't need an account to browse the calendar. You'll need one to submit events or manage your subscriptions.
If you have an account, we ask you to:
- Give us accurate information when you sign up, and update it if it changes
- Keep your password private (you're responsible for what happens on your account)
- Tell us if you think someone else has used your account
We can close your account if you break these terms, if we think it's being used in a way that harms you or others, or if the law requires us to.
How you can use ADHD Events
Use ADHD Events to find events, share events, and tell people about the ones you're running.
Things you can't do:
- Use ADHD Events to break the law
- Use it to harm yourself or anyone else
- Try to get into our systems, or get around any limits or safety features
- Scrape, copy, or republish the calendar as a whole, or build a competing listing from it
- Collect organisers' contact details in order to market to them
- Submit spam, scams, or events that aren't real
- Post content that's illegal, harmful, or takes other people's rights or work
- Sell access to ADHD Events without our written permission
- Pretend to be someone else, or use ADHD Events to trick people
Your stuff and our stuff
Your stuff
Everything you submit is yours. Your event details, your images, your descriptions. We use them to run the calendar, as set out above.
Our stuff
The ADHD Events site, the name, the brand, the design, the artwork, anything we write ourselves, and the calendar as a collection. All ours.
The listings
Individual event details belong to the organisers who submitted them. The calendar as a whole, including how it's gathered, checked, and arranged, belongs to us.
Your privacy
ADHD Events is the data controller for everything described here. You can reach us at contact@adhdevents.org, or by post at 21C Forde Park, Devon, TQ12 1DD, United Kingdom. Company number 17243893.
Browsing the calendar needs no account, no sign-up and no personal details. Most people will never give us anything at all. Here is everything we do collect, and why.
Event alerts by email. If you sign up for alerts we store your email address and use it to send you a weekly email about ADHD events. We do that because you asked us to, which is your consent. Our email provider is Kit (formerly ConvertKit), a company based in the United States. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribe and we stop, and your address is deleted within 30 days.
Events you submit. When you send us an event we receive your name, your email address and the details of the event, so we can check the listing is real and come back to you with questions. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running an accurate calendar. We keep submissions while the event is listed and for a year afterwards.
Emails you send us. If you email us, we keep the message so we can reply and so we have a record of what was said. Same basis: legitimate interests. We delete correspondence after two years unless there's a reason to keep it longer.
Analytics. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics counts your visit and records which event links you click. It's run by Google, which stores the data in the United States. Your IP address is anonymised, there's no advertising and no tracking of you across other websites. Google deletes it after 14 months. If you say no, none of this happens — see Cookies below.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records IP addresses and page requests to keep the site up and to spot attacks. That's standard for any website, and the logs are kept briefly.
Because Google and Kit are based in the United States, some of this data leaves the UK. Those transfers rely on the UK's approved safeguards for international transfers, and on each provider's own contractual commitments.
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with anyone beyond the providers named above, unless the law requires it.
Your rights
The law gives you real control over your data. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to what we're doing with it, ask us to limit it, or ask us to send it somewhere else. Where we rely on your consent — the email list, analytics — you can withdraw it whenever you like, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
Email contact@adhdevents.org and we'll answer within 30 days. You don't need to explain why, and there's no charge.
If we get it wrong, please tell us first so we can fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
When things go wrong
We do our best to make ADHD Events work well and safely. But sometimes things go wrong. Here's what that means legally.
If we cause you harm by being careless, by lying, or in ways the law says we can't escape from, we're responsible. That includes things like personal injury caused by our negligence.
For everything else, our total responsibility to you in any twelve-month period is £100, or the amount you've paid us in that time if that's higher.
We're not responsible for: indirect or knock-on losses, lost profits, lost business, damage to your reputation, or lost data (as long as we've taken reasonable steps to back things up).
We're also not responsible for the events themselves, or for anything that happens because of an event you found through us. That sits with the organiser.
The calendar is provided as it is. We don't promise it'll be complete, correct every time, or available every minute of every day. Please check the details with the organiser before you commit to anything.
Children and people who need extra care
Accounts on ADHD Events are for adults. If we find out someone under 18 has signed up, we'll close their account and delete their data.
Some events on the calendar are aimed at children and families. Those events are run by other people, and it's up to you as a parent or carer to check whether one is right for your child.
We take our responsibility seriously when someone using ADHD Events might be vulnerable. If you're worried about yourself or someone else, please reach out to a professional.
Stopping
You can stop using ADHD Events any time.
Unsubscribe using the link in any email, or remove the calendar feed from your calendar app. If you have an account, you can delete it in your settings, and your data goes too (the privacy policy explains exactly how).
If you want your event taken off the calendar, email us and we'll remove it.
We can close your access if you seriously break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering ADHD Events entirely, we'll give reasonable notice.
The legal bit
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we have a dispute, it goes to the courts of England and Wales, but if you're a consumer you keep your right to use the courts of where you live.
If something's wrong, please email us first at contact@adhdevents.org. We'll get back to you within five working days and try to sort it out.
